California Certified Organic Farmers

CCOF is a nonprofit organization that has been instrumental in advocating for federal organic legislation; their organic certification standards were foundational for the USDA National Organic Program, helping make “certified organic” a federally regulated claim. After three decades of fighting for organic integrity, CCOF continues to certify, educate, advocate, and promote organic.

FDA Registration

The FDA is “responsible for protecting public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices.” It is the central force in ensuring the United States’ general well-being by overseeing its food supply and safe production of other products.

USDA Certified Organic

Established by Congress, this federal regulatory program develops and enforces consistent national standards for organically produced agricultural products sold in the United States. Operating as a public-private partnership, the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) accredits third-party organizations to certify that producers meet national organic standards.
