Both the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEPFI) state that a company’s leadership on sustainable development, as well as its management of ESG factors, can enhance long-term financial and sustainable company value and need to be considered by the capital markets.
